Mohamed Salah is an Egyptian footballer who plays as a forward for the Egyptian national team as well as the Premier League club ‘Liverpool.’ Born and brought up in Gharbia, Egypt, he is a gifted footballer since his childhood. He started his career with the youth team of the Egyptian club ‘El Mokawloon.’ Soon, his transition happened to the club’s senior team in the ‘Egyptian Premier League’ in 2010. In 2012, he transferred to the Swiss football club, ‘FC Basel’. He played an important role in Basel’s victory in the 2012-13 ‘Swiss Championship’ and the 2013 ‘Uhren cup.’ In January 2014, he transferred to ‘Chelsea,’ becoming the first ever Egyptian player to play with Chelsea. Subsequently, he played for ‘Roma’ and ‘Fiorentina’ (on loan) before signing a new contract with ‘Liverpool’ in 2017. In 2017, he was named the ‘African Footballer of the Year’ by BBC and CAF.

Salah was named PFA Player of the Year for his standout season while also being nominated for UEFA's Male Player and Forward of the Year accolades. He also won the 2018 Puskas Goal of the Year award for his effort in the Merseyside Derby against Everton.

Salah was instrumental yet again for Jurgen Klopp in the 2018/19 campaign, although he was less prolific with a return of 22 goals in all competitions. In October, he scored his 50th goal for Liverpool in their victory against Red Star Belgrade, which saw him become the quickest player to reach the milestone for Liverpool, having done so in just 65 appearances.

In January 2019, Salah scored his 50th goal in the Premier League with a brace against Crystal Palace in a 4-3 victory which saw him become the fourth quickest to reach the half-century mark.

Liverpool reached the Champions League final for a second successive year and defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in an all-English affair. Salah scored the opening goal, converting a penalty in the first two minutes of the fixture.

It was the second-quickest goal ever in a Champions League final, with only Paolo Maldini scoring quicker against Liverpool in 2005. Divock Origi scored the second goal for Liverpool, who won their sixth European title.

In 2019/20, Salah was the hero for Liverpool against Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup final, scoring the decisive penalty to win a shootout 5-4. Salah - who finished fifth in the 2019 Ballon d'Or, one place higher than the previous year - was named FIFA Club World Cup Player of the Tournament as Liverpool won the competition.

Salah's third trophy of the season saw his side win the Premier League, an accolade that Liverpool secured for the first time in 30 years. Salah scored 23 goals in all competitions to become the first player since Michael Owen in 2002/03 to score 20 or more goals in three consecutive campaigns.

In 2020/21, Liverpool endured less success than prior years, but it didn't stop Salah from continuing to find the net - the Egyptian forward scored 22 in the Premier League to help his side to a third-placed finish.
